Respiratory allergy: homeopathic remedies to treat it

Homeopathy has a number of remedies that can be used to treat acute symptoms of respiratory allergy or allergic rhinitis.

Each patient should be given a background treatment – this is important in order to accelerate the healing process. To find out if this treatment is suitable, the patient should consult a homeopathic physician.

The homeopathic treatment should commence as soon as the first symptoms appear. It will be more effective if there is a basic treatment previously.

The allergy can be occasional if it manifests itself in specific situations or by contact with allergens such as pollen, hay or flowers. Some patients are affected by the symptoms of the allergy continuously. This is usually due to allergy or sensitivity to dust, dust mites or mould.

Homeopathic remedies for the treatment of respiratory allergy

As we mentioned previously, it is important to visit a homeopathic physician who can prescribe the basic treatment. It will accelerate the healing process or disappearance of symptoms.

A background treatment is usually prescribed together with the appropriate homeopathic remedy used to treat the acute symptoms: sneezing, rhinitis, itchy palate and itchy and watery eyes.

Initially, while we are waiting for the visit to the homeopathic physician, we can take Apis 15C and Puomo histamine 15C as soon as the first symptoms appear. Take 5 granules of each remedy twice a day.

Subsequently, we need to ask ourselves whether it is a seasonal rhinitis (hay fever) which is stimulated by the presence of the allergen or component that instigates the allergic symptoms, or whether it is a continuous allergy. An allergic episode can sometimes develop in some of the following situations:

An individual can sometimes develop an allergic episode during an especially emotional situation. There are remedies in homeopathy that are used to treat allergic episodes that are emotionally derived. An example of this can be Gelsemium sempervirens, which develops an allergic episode when the patient has suffered from fear. Ignatia develops an allergic episode as a result of a strong emotional shock.

If the patient is aware of the source of their allergy, 15C of the appropriate homeopathic remedy is prescribed through a dose of five granules three times a week. The recommended homeopathic remedies are as follows:

Pollens 15C: Pollens is prescribed for the treatment of seasonal allergies or hay fever. The recommended dose is five granules a day. If the patient is allergic to specific pollen, in homeopathy, granules of that particular pollen can be obtained.

Blatta orientalis 15C: Blatta is a good remedy for the treatment of dust or dust mite allergy. The recommended dose is five granules a day.

Isopathic remedies: In homeopathy, medications can be prepared by using the substance that causes the allergy in question. This medication acts as a “vaccine”

The medications that are used to treat the acute phase are chosen in line with the prevailing symptoms. 9C is prescribed in a dosage of five granules each hour. The doses are then spaced out as the symptoms improve, eventually reaching five granules, three times a day.

If sneezes are the dominant symptom: Nux vomica or Sabadilla

If rhinitis is the dominant symptom: Allium cepa, Arsenicum album or Pulsatilla

If conjunctivitis is present: Euphrasia, Kalium iodatum, Apis, Belladonna or Rhus toxicodendron.
